As summer winds down, keep an eye on this website, our Facebook page and those of our pro public education candidates in the Anoka Hennepin School District: Abbey Payeur (District 4), Kacy Deschene (District 3), and Jeff Simon (District 6). All of them have various events and ways you can volunteer to help their campaigns.
Currently, the Anoka Hennepin School Board is evenly split (3-3) where half of the Board is willing to create significant problems for district staff so they impose their own ideological agenda. They are willing to push aside the recommendations of educators and community members to adopt a curriculum with no regard for the people behind those decisions – especially the teachers who work the most closely with kids. When the respect and trust of the teachers no longer matter, the Anoka Hennepin we have come to know, will no longer exist. We can’t let this happen!
Once the school year starts, watch the DFL Neighborhood Network and other DFL messaging for ways you can be involved in supporting these pro public education candidates.
