Have you ever wondered about the scientific research eliminated or put on hold because of the “budget cuts” imposed by DOGE and misused Executive Orders? Drs. Noam Ross and Scott Delaney, plus others have created Grant Watch, a project to compile a complete list of science research funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) impacted by Trump’s decisions.
When looking at the NIH data, you can sort the grants listed by category: trans health-related, race and DEI, gender/LGBTQ, vaccine-related, HIV-related, cancer, Alzheimer’s, Columbia, Harvard, training, COVID-19, minority-serving institutions, and rural and land grants. NSF grants are divided into grants to Harvard and the Division of Equity for Excellence in STEM. In addition, resources have been provided for all researchers to appeal these decisions. For others, the website explains in detail how this data was aggregated and how transparency has been ensured.
